Mortgage Valuations
A mortgage valuation isn’t a survey, it’s a limited check on the property to advise a lender on the value of a property to ensure that it’s worth the amount that they are lending.
A valuation will provide a value for the property but will not give the same level of detail that a survey does. There may be structural problems in the property which may be costly to put right and won’t appear in a valuation report. This is why it’s important to have a more detailed survey of your home carried out by a qualified RICS surveyor before you buy.
